Eibar's head coach, Jokin Aranbarri, has said the club is ready for a demanding run of fixtures, with four away games among their next five matches, he explained this week in comments carried by Marca. The Basque club, second in Segunda División on 9 points after four rounds, will travel to Celta Fortuna, Eldense, Albacete and Oviedo, and will host only Las Palmas at Ipurua before mid October.
Four trips in five games
Aranbarri said the squad is facing the run with no concern. "The fact that we are now going to play four of five games away from home, we take it naturally, we do not dwell on it much," the coach said. He added the team feels convinced it will look to take the initiative in every away match.
The Andorra reference
The coach pointed to the win at Andorra (0-1), where Eibar kept a clean sheet and played close to 40 minutes with a man down. Aranbarri cited that match as proof the squad can handle the demands of nearly a month away from home.
Eibar arrive at this stretch on a run of three straight wins, the latest a 3-0 victory over Granada CF on 6 September, with goals from Iván Gil, Malcom Ares and Jon Guruzeta. That result left the club just one point behind leaders Castellón, having scored 6 goals and conceded 3 this season.
Squad depth amid absences
Aranbarri said the coming weeks will bring several absences for call ups and other commitments, but stressed the squad, offers multiple options to cover for them. He added that no place is guaranteed and every player competes to be picked for each matchday.
