The Eibar City Council has launched a tender to renovate the sports floor of the central pitch of Ipurua, one of the city's most used facilities. The action, valued at 224,995.17 euros, will allow for the replacement of a floor that has reached the end of its useful life after years of intense sports activity. Seven companies are competing in the tender to replace the floor of an installation used daily by Eibar Eskubaloia, Club de Gimnasia Rítmica Ipurua and Eibar Saskibaloia. The main pitch of Ipurua is one of the sports facilities with the highest activity in the municipality. In it, Eibar Eskubaloia and Club de Gimnasia Rítmica Ipurua develop a large part of their training and competitions, as well as hosting other sports activities and events organized throughout the year. The current floor was installed many years ago and, after continuous and intense use, has reached the end of its useful life. In fact, the need for its renovation was one of the issues raised by the sports clubs in the periodic meetings they hold with the City Council to analyze the needs of the municipal facilities. In addition, and before the installation of the new parquet, the cleaning of the beams of the central pitch roof will be carried out. This action, budgeted at 17,424 euros, will have a duration of approximately 10 to 12 days. It is planned that the works in the central pitch will be developed during the summer period, coinciding with the end of training and competitions, as well as with the temporary closure of the installation, with the aim of minimizing the impact on clubs and users. The mayor of Eibar, Jon Iraola, has highlighted the high participation registered in the contracting process and the importance of this investment for local sports. "The presentation of seven offers demonstrates the interest generated by this project among specialized companies. We are talking about an important action that will allow us to modernize one of the most used sports facilities in the city and respond to a demand that the clubs had transmitted to us in different meetings". Iraola has pointed out that the City Council maintains its commitment to improving municipal sports infrastructure. "Our goal is for sports entities and citizens to have safe, modern and suitable spaces for sports practice. This floor has provided service for many years, but it was time to undertake its replacement to ensure the best possible conditions". On the other hand, the Sports Councillor, Andoni Ameztoy, has emphasized that the action will allow improving both the safety and the quality of sports practice. "The main pitch of Ipurua records a constant activity throughout the year. Clubs like Eibar Eskubaloia and Club de Gimnasia Rítmica Ipurua develop a large part of their training and competitions in this installation, and it is essential that they are in optimal conditions to guarantee the safety and quality of sports practice".
